Bacelona sack Director of football (likely to affect Song's future).
It's all kicking off at Barcelona.

The President has sacked Director of football, Zubizaretta, and Carlos Pujol has walked out on the club in support of the legendary ex-keeper.

El Presidente is unhappy with last summer signings, Douglas and Vermaelen (neither playing in 1st team at the mo), and it's also being mentioned in Spanish press that the President disagreed with Zubizaretta's decision to loan out Song (a 20 million signing), and this has also contributed to Zubizaretta's downfall.

On top of that, it appears Messi and manager Luis Enrique have had a falling out.

If a new manager comes in at end of season, as seems likely now, and with Zubizaretta gone, Barcelona may well want to keep Song?

(I didn't realise Barcelona paid 20 million for Song - that's well out of West Ham's range, anyway, isn't it?)

"Apparently neymar had to separate Enrique and Messi."

I bet that was hard. Bit like splitting up a fight between Chihuaua and a poodle.

Thought Sullivan mentioned they wanted 17 million for him a month or so ago.

if we paid 15 mil for Carroll, I would snap their hand off for Song at 20 mil. There aren't many players who can slot into our team and change the entire complexion the way song does.

I imagine Song will try to finagle a way out one way or another. It's likely going to be a shit show there for at least another year or so.

Whether they want him back or not, I'm 99% certain that Barca is the last place Song wants to be. He will be sold - hopefully to us.

They've been slaughtered with injuries he's still a top manager.

I think they've only been able to play their first choice back 4, twice since the champions league final 18 months ago. 2 big injuries for reus, losing lewandowski, gündogan and kuba having long term injuries.

I'm think barca need a fresh approach to things and klopp is the man for it. Or they can take their chances with big Sam.

Can't see Enrique lasting too much longer. Think they'll change their approach and go for kloppy.

dont worry over things you cannot control or influence....what will be will be.......

maybe Song doesn't want to live in Spain anymore and want to live in London so whether Barca want him or not could be irrelevant

Which one do you reckon will win out ... Messi or Enrique?
Personally I think it would do Messi good to move on. To a team like West Ham

Song wants to live in London.

He isn't good enough for that barca midfield.

Messi has had a falling out with Enrique.

Song was a spare part at Barca. Back up for Busquets in midfield who could also fill in for Mascherano at centre half.
The lack of him isn't their problem. It's some getting old like Iniesta & Xavi and others like Suarez & Neymar trying to function in a team set up for Messi.
Plus their defence is still SHIT

Song did not "pull up many trees" at FCB. He won't be going back.

There are huge issues at Barca and the issue of Song being loaned out may be one. But it would be a very small one considering the shit they have got going on.

Xavi is aging he's 34 so his legs might tire more quickly. However, Nolan hs is not.
